Meet the Team

Project Bucephalus is made up of 5 team members for the “Animal Allies” season in 2016/17. Click on each portrait for a close up! You can also visit our Alumni page to see a list of members that may be gone, but are definitely not forgotten!

Faith2

Faith

Description:

Faith is the long-suffering ex-Mascot of the team, who after 3 seasons on the sidelines is now a veteran of “Nature’s Fury”, “World Class”, “Trash Trek”, and “Animal Allies”. Faith is usually up to her neck in the Project presentation, and is mostly involved in finding ways to cram as much information as possible into a 5 minute drama.

Faith has been known to break into random dance steps at unexpected times, and regularly out-dances judges and referees at after-tournament celebrations. She has a love of anything cute and fluffy. She is desperate to recruit more girls to be part of the team.

Isaac2

Isaac

Description:

One of the founding team members, Isaac is a seven-year veteran of “Body Forward”, “Food Factor”, “Senior Solutions”, “Nature’s Fury”, “World Class”, “Trash Trek”, and “Animal Allies”. Always heavily involved in robot development and programming, he has been know to write code so complicated that even he can’t understand it. He wishes LEGO would invent a half-stud piece with an axle end.

Isaac can be found reading or learning magic tricks when he is not working.

Charlotte

Description:

When Charlotte accompanied her younger brothers to the Project Bucephalus information meeting, she had no idea what was in store. Overcoming some initial uncertainty, Charlotte signed on to the team for “Animal Allies” and rapidly became a valuable member – picking the team’s Research Project (Dung Beetles) and being the first person in Wollongong (and possibly NSW) to have the robot climb the Biomimicry Wall on the “Animal Allies” field. Charlotte has also earned special praise from the younger students she has mentored in the team’s LEGO robotics classes.

Charlotte’s FIRST journey continues, as she has also found herself signing on to the Project Bucephalus FRC team,

Isaac

Description:

Yes, another one! Isaac is a rookie, joining the team for “Animal Allies” with Charlotte, his older sister. Isaac quickly found his feet within the team, contributing greatly to the robot design, and becoming one of the robot operators in “Animal Allies” – alongside the other Isaac (just to be confusing). Isaac had no idea what he was getting in to, but by all appearances he his enjoying himself immensely.

Like his sister, Isaac has also signed on to the Project Bucephalus FRC team,

Andrew1

Coach Andrew

Description:

Originally roped into coaching his son’s team for “Body Forward”, Andrew finds himself seven seasons later still doing the same job – and convincing others to take up the role for new teams in other areas. He enjoys himself most of the time, but is convinced some robots are just evil.

Lyndell1

Coach Lyndell

Description:

Lyndell was originally going to keep a light involvement in the team, but ended up taking on responsibility for the Project and administration side of things. As this is as far from “light” as it is possible to be, she finds herself with very little spare time. Educated as a drama and arts student, she has also found herself developing an understanding of code and engineering – she has yet to decide if she will be completing her journey to the Dark Side.

Lyndell has a talent for running the Introduction courses, and is becoming fluent in EV3.
