Current Goals

Robotics in Schools

Project Bucephalus is currently seeking sponsors to fund the team to run robotics programs in schools throughout the Illawarra. $6,050 pays for 22 students to participate in a 10-week course where we supply all the equipment (laptops and robotics kits) and course material.

This program allows school to implement robotics programs without having to commit to purchase of expensive equipment or teacher training. In fact, we’re happy to train teachers along with the students! The funds raised will support Project Bucephalus in their continued participation in the FLL, including their ability to represent Australia in international competition.

International Competition

For the past four years in a row, Project Bucephalus have been selected to represent Australia at International FLL competitions! See “Denmark or Bust” for the latest example.

The expenses involved in attending these tournaments are beyond the financial ability of the families that make up the team. Fundraising is done primarily via the hard work of the children. Donations are useful, but the children are more than willing to earn their way through teaching and mentoring at the Robo Club, Robo Camp, or the “Robotics in Schools” programs.
